Our (Detailed) Story

October 27, 2008--Our Forever Family Day; final custody!

Sept 22, 2008--we got temporary custody of Evie

Sept 19, 2008--Evie's birth day!

September 2, 2008--we met Evie's birth father

July 18, 2008--we got the call about Evie (on our 10th wedding anniversary)

July 7, 2008--Lucy's birthparents changed their minds

July 3-7, 2008--We bonded with Lucy at the hospital

July 3, 2008--Lucy was born

March-July 2008--We built a relationship with Lucy's birthparents

May 30, 2008--Second laproscopic surgery for endometriosis, endometrial cysts and a uterine fibroid

March 26, 2008--We met Lucy's birthparents

March 14, 2008--We got the call about Lucy

June 12, 2007--We completed our adoption home study

Spring, 2007--We signed up with a local domestic adoption agency

Winter, 2006--We tried to pursue international adoption with B*ethany C*hristian S*ervices but this fell through due to Karen being on maintenance medications for allergies and chronic bronchitis

December, 2006--Last ditch (failed) IUI cycle

Fall, 2006--We decided to pursue adoption instead of IVF

July, 2006--Failed IUI cycle

June, 2006--Failed IUI cycle

May, 2006--Failed IUI cycle

April 21, 2006--First laproscopic surgery revealed stage III endometriosis, endometrial cyst on right ovary and scarring on both ovaries

February, 2006--Failed IUI cycle (first hint of endometriosis)

January, 2006--Failed IUI cycle (no eggs)

January-December, 2005--Femara cycles

August-December, 2004--Clomid cycles

September 28, 2004--First RE (reproductive endocrinologist) appt. and testing on J revealed our infertility was not male factor

Summer, 2004--Diagnosed with low progesterone by OB/GYN

March 24, 2004--began TTC (trying to conceive)

December, 2003--stopped taking BCPs (birth control pills)

July 18, 1998--Wedding in Albert Lea, Minnesota

September 5, 1996--First date in Charlottesville, Virginia

August 26, 1995--We met at an Alpha Epsilon Pi frat party on the grounds of the University of Virginia. I was a 17-year-old first year student in the College of Arts and Sciences (double major in English and Psychology) and J was a 22-year-old in his first year of graduate school (Engineering, Materials Science)
